First Generation

1. Conrad NICKLES was born about 1832 in Baveria / Bayern. He lives in York, York Co, PA in 1860. He was a shoemaker (?). The1860 U.S. Feral Census indicates Conrad Nickles living in York, PA, with a Sarah Nicjkles, four years his junior. (Contrary to family oral history, the 1880 U.S. Federal Census lists Conrad's daughter, Carrie's mother and father being born in Bavaria.)
