24. Richard Edwin SHAW was born on 14 May 1924 in Hampton, Franklin Co, IA. He died on 30 Nov 2006 in Edina, MN. He was buried on 5 Dec 2006 in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, following a Funeral Service at Wooddale Church, Eden Prairie, MN. Memrial Service: 12/5/2006, Wooddale Church Chapel, Eden Prairie, MN. He served in the military 1943 to 1945 in the South Pacific. Joined the Army following High School.
Obituary: "Richard Shaw was born on May 14,1924 in Hampton, Iowa to Charles and Orvetta Shaw. They moved to Minnesota and Dick went to Hopkins High School, playing basketball and taking the team to the State Tournament. After graduating from high school, he joined the army. He played basketball at Fort Snelling for the army and then was sent to the South Pacific from January 1943 to December 1945. After the war he attended Gene Hundredmark School ofArt & Design. He met Mary in high school at Fourth Baptist Church and they were married on June 21, 1946. They have been a couple devoted to the Lord and to each other for over 60 years. He worked for over 30 years for Northwestern Products in advertising and sales. Dick was always a joy to be with and loved to make people laugh. He sang in the church choir, loved downhill skiing, enjoyed golf, photography, drawing, playing with his grandchildren, and spending time with his family. He loved working around the house and the yard and was always working on a project. He was a man integrity, who committed his life to Christ at an early age and served him faithfully all his life."

Richard Edwin SHAW and Mary Winnifred MAHAN were married on 21 Jun 1946 in Minneapolis, Hennepin Co, MN. Mary Winnifred MAHAN (daughter of Frank A. MAHAN and Alma R. BLANCHETTE) was born on 23 Aug 1923 in Minneapolis, Hennepin Co, MN. She was baptized in 1938 in Minneapolis, Hennepin Co, MN. Richard Edwin SHAW and Mary Winnifred MAHAN had the following children:
